Product Description The HWREN1 effectively doubles the operating distance of your entire wireless network. Whether it's an area in your home that has limited or no wireless coverage or a warehouse in your office, the Hawking Hi-Gain Wireless-300N Range Extender takes the signal from your wireless access point and retransmits it at a higher rate. Simply place the Range Extender halfway between your wireless access point and wireless trouble spot. The HWREN1 is the only wireless repeater on the market that supports most wireless 802.11b/g/n networks and devices so you never have to worry whether the wireless network you have at your home or office will work with the Range Extender. The HWREN1 also features a software setup wizard for hassle-free installation. To setup the Range Extender you simply load the CD and scan for a network to extend.

Excellent Product March 14, 2010 J. Cooper This product worked as advertised right out of the box...the installation and setup wizard was as easy as a walk in the park.
Prior to acquiring the Hawking 300N range extender, I was limited to about a 20 - 25ft distance from my router for wireless connectivity on my laptop. Furthermore, an additional problem was that my kids recently purchased a new XBOX console which we setup in our basement. Because the console was on opposite ends of the house from where the router is installed, it couldn't maintain a decent wireless connection. After installing the Hawking product down in the basement of my residence within good range of the XBOX console, I now have whole house wireless coverage at full strength on my laptop.
Well worth the price! Thanks Hawking.
Best Range Extender Ever !!!! March 14, 2010 MAS (Charleston, S.C.) I purchased this product to cover one dead spot on the third floor of our house. The device was very easy to set up (less than 3 minutes!!!) and has functioned perfectly since the day I set it up. This has far greater power and range than my wireless N router (Linksys WRT610N) and handles streaming video and music much smoother and faster than my router. I don't know why other companies don't offer a wireless N range extender; Hawking seems to be the only one.
In short, I highly recommend this product for increasing the range of your router. I don't see how anyone couldn't be satisfied with this device !!!!
Best thing since sliced bread March 13, 2010 Amazon Chuck (Hartford, CT United States) I needed to boost my UVerse router so I could get better connections and faster downloads in the far end of the house. I used the setup CD and easy guide, and it was as easy to setup with my WPA2 secured Uverse router as could be. Took the farthest reaches of the house from 1-2 bars out of 5 up to 5 bars. My main PC directly connected by LAN cable gives a reading of 5.66Mbps/0.97Mbps (down/up) at [...]
After using this Extender, my wireless laptop gave 5.42/0.94 Mbps in the farthest part of house. I also have a LG-BD-390 LG BD 370 Network Blu-ray Disc Player Wireless BluRay player that can connect to NetFlix and YouTube to play videos at a fast download rate now.
This is a great product.
Works great but needed Tech support March 13, 2010 Ralph I. Lopez MD (New York, NY USA) At first I thought it worked but I clearly was not getting access to the Extender. Perhaps the mistake was making the extender have the same SSID as the Wireless... I thought it would be easier but probably caused a conflict.
At any rate, I started over but the "setting" reboot part just froze on the the Setup Wizard. So, I called Tech support expecting little and was amazed at the kindness and professionalism of the techie! I had to disregard all the instructions on the setup CD and he took me step by step through a long process of changing the IP on the Extender.. and finally got it working. I now have a DLink Dir 655 router in the front of a long NYC apartment near the kitchen with microwaves and a subfreezer refrig. I needed to access the wireless for a new BluRay (the Linksys 610N worked but it only picked up the weak signal forty or so feet away). I have the Extender in the den (next room is the bedroom and the BluRay)..Fabulous 4-5 bars now. The only downside (not a big deal) is that you will have to connect to the new name "Hawkings 300N Extender" rather than to the home SSID. Of course you can change the name of the Hawkings.. so I am now connected to my SSID in one part of the house and to the Hawkings in the other. The LG590 BluRay picked up the signal and set the wireless addresses automatically.
Great product and I am amazed that I am typing this, "great Tech support"... maybe I was just lucky but I actually asked the guy to send me an evaluation form to praise his efforts!
