The handset meets JIS7 waterproof specifications, which means it can be submersed in up to one meter (3.28 feet) of water for 30 minutes without damage. This system is also impact and dust resistant, so it can truly stand up to wear and tear. For smooth, dependable operation, the DWX207 utilizes DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications) 6.0 technology for interference free reception. Additionally, the high visibility message waiting indicator lets you know immediately after you've received a message, and the caller ID/call waiting features display the name and number of the caller in call waiting even when you're already on the phone. (Note: to activate the caller ID features, you must subscribe through your telephone company.) The advanced phonebook feature stores up to 70 names and offers alphabetical search capabilities, and you can choose among several unique ringers and assign them to specific callers so you'll know who's calling before you pick up the phone. Be sure that you aren't buying this as a primary phone. This is a great secondary handset. You need the base phone to make this one operate in your home. I have internet based telephone service and this one is a good choice. The Bluetooth technology's working great with my Magicjack internet telephone system.

This works fine with Uniden's DECT 2188 base station. Set up was easy, so long as you follow the instructions. It's very sturdy (I am clumsy and drop my phone a *lot*, which was why I bought it). I haven't submerged it, so I don't know if it survives that as advertised. I'd argue that it does have more than poolside use: I don't have a pool, but I do have a kitchen and would hate to lose a phone because I dropped it in water there.
I grant it's ugly, but I am a function-first person. My only real gripe with it is that it does not recognize the DECT 2188 station's do-no-disturb mode, and so it still rings when I have that turned on.
But if you are looking for a sturdy, waterproof phone to go with your Uniden DECT 6.0 station and it's not a problem if it rings when you don't want it to, this does the job quite well. If something happened to this unit, I'd buy another.

Works as advertised, looks great and rugged. adequate voice quality, a bit short on range, but as I said, it is for a specific by-the-pool application.

I bought this for the pool area. I have not used it there yet but I did take it out while gardening. It's very rugged. Not the greatest looking phone, but if it falls in the pool or I forget to bring it in, it will still work!

I bought a Uniden Detec 6.0 phone system and wanted an extra submersible yellow and black handset
This was the cheapest handset in price on Amazon.com
It was shipped very fast to me
Charged it up and added it to the system
It not only worked, I found out that I could run all 5 handsets on the 4 handset unit/base
I have always been a fan of Uniden and always will be
You can't go wrong
I recommend the seller of this handset highly
