great solution for a budget August 15, 2010 Nicholas A. Masterson (The Galaxy of Limbo) i wanted to gain internet access to a few rooms that did not have access and this seemed like a great choice. i use my directTV dvr, and ps3 with this product. i have had some disconnects and resets of the router during 'heavy' usage, but this product has been great for me, i have yet to be disconnected while playing a game online. streaming netflix through this isnt anything to be blown away by, but that isnt Netgear's fault, netflix streaming already isnt HD and streaming is difficult anyways, but it suffices for me and i'm happen with the product. for usage with internet say on a pc or laptop i beleive this is a great tool, depending on if you're a casual gamer or hardcore gamer this would probably benefit the casual gamer. i will purchase this product again when i need more ports in different rooms.
Works perfectly all over the house July 17, 2010 J. Doyle (Orange County, California) Works perfectly. No drops. Just like an ethernet cable would be. Since it has four ports, I can plug four items in with no problem. I imagine I could put a switch into one of the ports to add more items, but haven't tried it.
Bought this to add to my existing system of one sending unit and one other receiver. Plugged one into the wall next to my entertainment center (DirectTV DVR, WD TV LIVE, PS3 and Wii all plugged into it and working well).
Plugged this one in the garage downstairs and around the corner for a security system. Got the blue light sync indicator within 5 seconds.
If I plug in my laptop, I get an IP within five seconds. Works great anywhere I plug it in...all over the house.
Remember...this is just an extra receiver. You have to buy the sender unit separately (it comes with one receiver like this one, too).
it works January 27, 2010 airportsyndrome returned my wireless N adapter and bought 4 of these. the picture only shows 2 ports. 2 extra ports are on the other side for a total of 4 ports.
for the users who gave 1 or 2 stars...C'MON MAN!!!
Simple, easy, perfect January 24, 2010 raincntry 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I live in an older apartment building with old wiring and a fuse box with actual screw out fuses. I was concerned this product may not work in my home. I was wrong. All I had to do was plug it in the socket with modem running in one and plug the other unit in next to my TV/Stereo and it worked as advertised. I have a 3MB connection and I'm not getting any signal degradation
The box contains 2 units and two network cables so it has all you need. Each unit has four network plugs, two on each side. If you have an internet connection that you want or need to move and you don't feel like getting a hub and running cables, this is a great product.
